Pre-Selling Settings to Check

If you are new to Baby Bunting it is highly recommended that you read this article fully.

Products and Listings

  • The Baby Bunting Marketplace Onboarding Team will check for Product Identifiers (UPC's, Barcodes, EAN) as part of the product approval process and unless you have your own made Brand they will ask for UPC's.   We recommend checking the Marketplace documentation..  Also consider this Baby Bunting article about Product Attributes.
  • If you have existing listings we recommend asking your Baby Bunting account manager what they advise.  Omnivore will push up your new listings, so managing existing marketplace listings to avoid duplicates is advised.  This reading on existing listings is helpful.
  • The Baby Bunting Marketplace approve all listings that we push up to their marketplace.  Please speak with your onboarding specialist about this process.  They have product compliance rules that sellers must meet in order for products to be approved for listing.  This approval happens initially and on-going as you also add new products to your Baby Bunting listing range.

Choose which products to list

  • You will need to select a Baby Bunting category for each product you want to list on Baby Bunting.  See Category Mapping for more instructions.
  • If there are products you don't want to list on Baby Bunting, you can either Block them or simply not choose a category for them to list on. You can block a single product or exclude products by brand or keyword.
  • Restrictions and some policies prevent some product types from selling on Baby Bunting. Please be aware of any Banned and Restricted items, we recommend asking your Marketplace Contact to clarify.

Pricing

  • If you want to change the price of products you can create a promotion to increase or decrease the price of all products or a group of products.
  • If you're an international seller, you can also create custom exchange rates - go to 'Settings - Currencies' if you don't want to use the daily default rate which fluctuates.

Stock Buffer

  • You can set up a stock buffer under 'Settings - Administration - Product Import' if you carry low levels of stock and want to reduce the chance of overselling.  You can also set a Stock Buffer by marketplace.

Shipping & Shipment Tracking

  • There are many options available for Baby Bunting Shipping, such as free shipping, Multiple shipping options per product, weight based shipping based on product groups in Omnivore, Free shipping over a certain $ threshold.
  • Please review the following articles to better understand the options available to you:
  1. Shipping overview
  2. Free shipping
  3. Weight based shipping
  • At a minimum you need one shipping method to go live on Baby Bunting.
  • Shipment Tracking is mandatory for Baby Bunting,  Tracking information is added into the order in your eCommerce Store, Omnivore then updates Baby Bunting.  Sellers get paid when orders are set to Shipped with correct Tracking Data.  Late shipment can affect performance ratings on Baby Bunting.  Please check their documentation on this.

  • Create the Product Group (go to 'Products - Product Groups' in Omnivore) then go to ‘Products – Product Actions’ and click ‘Create size chart image’.

Important regarding orders

  • Baby Bunting does not give out the customers email address. If the customer email address is a required field in your ecommerce system, please go to 'Settings - Baby Bunting - General' and enter ${order_id}@<yourdomainname> in the field 'Default Order Email'. See this FAQ for more details on how to set this up in Omnivore.

Testing

  • Omnivore strongly recommends testing the set up before launching your live store.
  • Firstly test your ecommerce connection:  Navigate to SETTINGS / FEEDS / GENERAL in the left hand menu.  Select the TEST CONNECTION button (about half way down the page).  If successful this will show "connection successful"
  • Secondly test your order flow:  Navigate to a product page and scroll down to the marketplace product details.  You should see a a yellow SEND TEST button.  Select this and it will send a test order to your ecommerce system. Fulfil the order as normal  (there is no money attached to the order).  If successful, then process a refund from your eCommerce system as per normal. This means you can then mark the order as REFUNDED ONLINE in Omnivore.
