Overview

This FAQ provides an overview of shipping options on the JB Hi-Fi marketplace.

Shipping configuration and pricings is generally set up within JB Hi-Fi and will be discussed with you by your account manager.

Once your shipping setup has been finalised within your JB Hi-Fi Selling Portal you can setup any corresponding shipping policies in Omnivore. It is best to ensure your Shipping Config is complete in the marketplace first. More on this below.

  • Please Note:  Currently there are no JB Hi-Fi FAQ's we can link to, their documentation portal is not setup like the other Mirakl marketplaces.  Due to this we suggest contacting your account manager via marketplace@jbhifi.com.au for setup assistance.
  • Shipping Setup with the JB Hi-Fi portal can be found under Settings - Shipping, from there see Shipping Zones and Shipping charges.

Shipping options

The options available for shipping are:

  • Flat rate shipping
  • Standard
  • Free shipping on all products OR Free Shipping on grouped products
  • Free shipping on orders
  • Shipping based on defined shipping zones/classes - create a flat rate for each zone. You can also set different rates for parcel sizes within each zone.
  • Weight based shipping - you will need to set up Product Groups using the Weight criteria in Omnivore and then link each product group to a JB Hi-Fi Shipping Class in Omnivore. For more details ask your marketplace account manager/contact.
  • Shipping charges for different products as defined using Product Groups in Omnivore.

For additional assistance and setup login to your JB Hi-Fi Partner Hub dashboard.

Also, the JB Hi-Fi prepared PDF attached has the setups guides for shipping.

Setup steps within Omnivore

As per the JB Hi-Fi Setup Guide make sure you have setup your Shipping Zones, Free Shipping if required and shipping costs for each zone.

We recommend reading all of the scenarios below to fully understand which scenario/s will work best

Scenario 1 - Using one shipping zone and a default shipping

  1. Shipping setup in Omnivore can be found under Settings - Jb Hi-Fi - Shipping.  The snippet below shows a simple one policy only setup that is Default.
  2. To setup something like this make sure your Shipping Zone is setup, In Omnivore click Add new shipping policy then complete the fields choosing Free or a Shipping Zone from the Policy name drop down.
  3. Do not select a product group, by doing that the policy name will be set to default.  This means that all products will get the default Free Shipping policy, OR which ever policy you select from the Shipping policy name drop down.
  4. Click Update

Scenario 2 - Using product groups

  1. This scenario below is Shipping using Product Groups, the seller has product groups based on categories and they are assigned to Shipping Zones/Class in the marketplace.
  2. Use the same process as above but select a Product Group from the drop down.
  3. Product Groups can be based on SKU, price, weight, category and brand.  How to setup a Product Group

Scenario 3 - Free Shipping

  1. To setup FREE shipping we recommend reading the attached JB Ho Setup Guide Shipping section and contacting marketplace@jbhifi.com.au for more assistance.
  2. Then within Omnivore - Settings - JB Hi-Fi - Shipping create a new policy and select Policy Name Free Shipping (with or without a product group depending on your setup).  If you only want Free Shipping on some products then use one of your product groups.
  3. JB Hi-Fi also has the ability to set free shipping at the order level.

Scenario 4 - Shipping by weight

  1. Each product must have a weight in your ecommerce platform and it is usually added in kilograms. To check that Omnivore has imported your weights, go to Products - On JB Hi-Fi. In the table of products there is a column called 'Weight'
  2. Magento users: In Omnivore, go to 'Settings - Feeds - General'. Scroll down and click the 'Map Fields' button. Ensure that the Magento weight field is showing in the Omnivore weight field.
  3. Create your Product Group based on Weight following this FAQ here.
  4. To check if a product has been assigned to a product group, go to 'Products - On JB Hi-Fi'. Find the product and click through to the page that provides the full product details. Scroll down to the box 'JB Hi-Fi Product View' and you will see a list of Product Groups that the product is assigned to.
  5. Now you have your weight based groups setup you can create a shipping policy, select your Shipping Zones and assign a weight Product Group in Omnivore.
  6. See scenario 2 above which follows the use of groups.
