To simplify the returns process, eBay are now automatically accepting change of mind returns on behalf of sellers when the buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
This update will enable sellers to increase their efficiency and make returns easier to manage.
If the seller's policy requires the buyer to pay for return shipping for change of mind returns, requests for returns are accepted automatically. We'll provide the buyer with an easy and convenient returns service through ParcelPoint.
If the seller is responsible for the cost of return shipping, sellers will still have three business days to provide their own return label.
No return requests are automatically accepted for items that have no returns.
By automatically accepting change of mind returns, sellers can benefit through:
- Saving time and effort Less manual labour when accepting change of mind returns
- Improving buyer experienceReducing the time buyers will have to wait for their refund
- Helping you relist your inventory sooner as the item is generally returned to sellers faster
Sellers can continue to customise their return preferences to automatically approve returns for items significantly not as described or for immediate refunds without requiring the buyer to send the item back.
