Overview
Occasionally, marketplaces remove categories from their taxonomy, leading to a "Deprecated Categories" error in Omnivore.
This error appears as a red message on the product / category page, indicating that affected products may no longer be listed correctly on the marketplace.
This is the error you will see from the category mapping screen:
This is an example error from the Product Page in Omnivore:

Next Steps
Identify Affected Products:
Navigate to the product or category page in Omnivore.
Look for the "Deprecated Categories" error message.
Remap to an Active Category:
Click on 'Remap to an active category' next to the affected product.
On the next page, read the instructions carefully.
Delete the deprecated category.
Assign the product to a new, active category.
- Sync Changes:
Once the deprecated category is deleted and a new category is applied, the next upload feed will pick up this change.
The product will be relisted on the marketplace under the new category.
Monthly Marketplace Category Update
To keep Omnivore up to date, we download the latest marketplace category structure from each marketplace at the start of every month.
During this update, you may temporarily see all products showing a “deprecated category” message.
Because of this, we recommend not acting on deprecated category messages on the first day of the month, especially if most of your products are affected.
Instead, wait 24 hours and then review your products again. If the majority of products are still showing the deprecated message after that time, please contact our Support Team for assistance.
