Overview
This FAQ helps you to ensure proper setup of the required eBay business policies for the Omnivore platform, including necessary reading if you have existing eBay Policies.
Key points before you begin
- Please ensure you have the eBay Business Policies feature enabled in your eBay Seller account.
- To check this, log into your eBay account and go here.
- Please ensure you have opted in to eBay Business Policies, to check this click here.
- You may see the 'start using business policies today' page, if so click the Get Started button.
- If you have existing eBay Policies, example for shipping, you cannot rename it to a policy that is required for Omnivore. So if you rename one of your existing shipping policies to 'basic' within eBay this will not work and will require a manual fix.
Important Setup Information
Our system expects/creates the following eBay Business Policies, named exactly as per below:
Note: The names are case sensitive eg basic not Basic, PayPal not Paypal etc
- Postage Policy = “basic”
- Payment Policy = “PayPal” (Note: Immediate Payment Required MUST be ticked/selected.) Even if you have Managed payments activated within eBay you must keep this policy named PayPal.
- Returns Policy = “ReturnPolicy”
All three must be "default" policies in eBay.
Please do not rename or delete these policies as our platform requires them.
Example:
If any of these policies are missing, please create and name them as per the above.
Handling Existing eBay Policies
If you renamed an existing eBay Policy to fit within the Omnivore setup it is highly likely this has broken the shipping policy configuration that exists between Omnivore and eBay Australia. This includes renaming your existing eBay policy to be one of the required default policies mentioned above.
If this is the case and you are having problems listing your products and completing your setup because of an error in Omnivore that mentions missing business policy, follow this guide in sequence to fix this issue.
