Overview

Trade Me offers additional promotional features, such as Gallery and Feature, to help draw more attention to your listings on Trade Me. 


Promotional Features Available

The following promotional features are available on Trade Me:

  • Feature
    Featured listings appear at the top of the listings within the selected category.

  • Gallery
    Gallery listings are placed in a stronger position within the category, making them more visible to buyers.

  • Gallery Plus
    Includes Gallery on the initial listing plus up to two relists, provided the item does not sell.

  • Super Feature / Homepage Combo
    Displays up to three images in a large, prominent carousel above search results.
    Listings with Super Feature also appear on the Trade Me homepage in the relevant stripe.
    Super Feature runs for up to 7 days and is available in Motors, Property, and selected General Items categories.


Important Note on Fees

Additional charges apply to all promotional features. Please refer to Trade Me’s fee schedule for more information.


How To Add Promotional Features

Step 1: Create a Product Group

  1. Go to Products → Product Groups in Trade Runner.

  2. Create a Product Group containing the products you want the promotional feature to apply to.

  3. Add the relevant products to the group.

Example:
To apply the Gallery feature to all products in the Trade Me category “Handbags”, select that Trade Me category in the AND Category(s) field under Criteria.




Step 2: Create a Promotional Extra

  1. Go to Products → Product Actions from the left navigation.

  2. Click Create Promotional Extras.




Step 3: Configure the Promotional Feature

  1. Enter a Name for the promotion.

  2. Select Trade Me as the marketplace.

  3. Choose the Product Group created in Step 1.

  4. Select the promotional feature you want to apply (for example, Gallery).

  5. Click Save.

After saving, the promotional feature will appear in the list on the Product Actions page.



Step 4: Upload to Trade Me

  1. Go to the Dashboard.

  2. Click Upload to Trade Me to apply the promotional features to your listings.

  3. Allow up to one hour for the changes to appear on Trade Me.




Removing Promotional Features


To remove a promotional feature:

  1. Go to Products → Product Actions.

  2. Locate the promotional feature you want to remove.

  3. Click Delete.

After deleting the feature:

  • Go to the Dashboard and click Upload to Trade Me to remove the promotion from Trade Me immediately.

  • If you do not click Upload to Trade Me, the removal will occur during the next full product sync.
