Overview
The eBay Markdown Manager tool allows sellers to create promotional sales on eBay. When using Omnivore's eBay integration, it's essential to configure both platforms correctly to ensure smooth operation.
Key Requirements
eBay Setting: Ensure that the setting "Keep items in this sale and block revisions for price increases" (see below) is enabled in your eBay Seller Hub under the Marketing tab. If this setting is not enabled, Omnivore will not support the eBay Markdown Manager and any revisions to a product will remove it from the sale.
Listing Age: Items must be listed for at least seven days before they can be added to a sale.
Price and Postage Revisions: If you've revised the item price or postage costs within the past seven days, you won't be able to add the item to a sale. Additionally, revising the price or postage costs of an item already on sale will remove it from the sale.
Multiple Promotions: If a listing is already on sale, you won't be able to add a new sale. For example, if your listing is on a price sale, you won't be able to add a free postage sale to that listing.

Alternatives to Markdown Manager
Omnivore offers its own Promotions feature, which provides more flexibility and control over your promotions. This feature allows you to create different price / promotion strategies for the same product across various marketplaces. You can apply percentage or dollar-based discounts, set fixed prices, or add costs for free shipping. Each marketplace can have unique pricing for the same product. However, multiple promotions cannot be applied to a single product simultaneously.
Further information on the Promotions feature and how to use it can be found here: Promotions Feature
Best Practices
Pre-Listing: Ensure that your items are listed for at least seven days before adding them to a sale.
Avoid Frequent Revisions: Minimise revisions to item prices and postage costs to prevent removal from ongoing sales.
Utilise Omnivore Promotions: Consider using Omnivore's Promotions feature for more flexibility and control over your promotions.
