Placing Your eBay Store on “Holiday” (Time Away) Mode
If you’re going away and won’t be able to process sales or fulfil orders, you can use eBay’s Time Away (also known as Holiday or Vacation) settings.
The set up is done through your eBay seller account.
What Happens When You Activate Time Away
You can schedule your time away and choose whether to:
You can set an automatic message for buyers who contact you through eBay Messages.
Even during your absence, you're still responsible for:
eBay fees still apply while you're away, including listing fees or store subscription costs.
Recommended Actions When Using Time Away
In your eBay seller account, navigate to Time Away / Vacation Settings.
Set your start and end date for your time away.
Choose whether to hide your listings or keep them visible with a note that you're away.
If you’re keeping listings visible, adjust your handling time in advance to avoid late-shipment penalties.
Write a custom message to show on your store during your absence, letting buyers know when you’ll return.
Things to Keep in Mind
Fixed-price listings that are “paused” will be hidden from search while you're away.
Even if listings are hidden, buyers who have them in their watch list can still acess them.
Make sure to fulfil all outstanding buyer obligations before your time away begins.
