Overview

Sometimes an order imported from Bunnings may show a product in Omnivore that is not the item the buyer purchased.

This happens because the UPC code attached to the product in the buyer’s cart matches the UPC code for a different product in your eCommerce store.

This is not an Omnivore issue. It occurs when the UPC code you’ve provided is associated with a different product in Bunnings’ catalogue. Bunnings matches products strictly by UPC codes.

Common Scenarios

  • Product A in Bunnings has UPC 123456.

  • Product B in Omnivore (from your eCommerce store) has the same UPC 123456.

  • Bunnings will link your Product B’s offer to Product A in their catalogue.

  • As a result, the order in Omnivore shows Product A instead of your actual product.

This often happens if:

  • UPCs are reused or incorrectly entered.
  • UPCs are not GS1-issued or applied incorrectly (e.g., single unit vs multi-pack).
  • If you use Own Brand + MPN as the product identifier, then Bunnings may already have an offer SKU that the same ID as your product identifier.

Steps to Fix the Issue

  1. Check Your UPCs

    • Ensure the UPCs for the affected products are correct on your website.

    • If you need to, correct the data there and any corrections will sync to Omnivore and then to Bunnings.

  2. Contact Bunnings Support

    • If your codes are 100% correct you will need to contact Bunnings. Provide the full product details for the affected items, including:

      • Product name

      • Variant titles and sizes (if applicable)

      • UPC codes for each product / variant

      • Photos showing the official UPC for each product / variant

    • Ask Bunnings to verify and correct their UPC data in their catalogue.

  3. Follow Bunnings Instructions

    • They may need to perform a product purge to correct the database.

    • During the purge, you must block affected products in Omnivore to avoid syncing errors.

    • After Bunnings confirms the purge is complete, unblock the products to resume updates.

⚠️ Important: You cannot perform these steps yourself in Bunnings. You must contact their support team to fix UPC issues.

Key Points

  • Always ensure your UPC data is correct before listing on Bunnings.

  • If orders show the wrong product, the issue always originates from UPC conflicts in Bunnings’ catalogue.

  • Omnivore cannot resolve these errors independently; Bunnings support must intervene.
