Overview

Amazon allows sellers to list their own brand on the marketplace, in most cases this involves Amazon giving a UPC exemption which you have apply for.

You also have to apply to have that brand listed so it is in the Amazon Catalogue.  See additional links below on this.

In this FAQ we will show you how to set the Brand for Amazon in Omnivore so it matches what Amazon allows you to have as that brand.

This means you can maintain a different brand on your eCommerce Store.

Key Points

  • In most cases you will need to check with Amazon Seller Central to apply for a UPC Exemption based on listing under your own Brand in certain categories.
  • The values you add in Omnivore have to be exact to what Amazon has in its Catalogue, eg, if Amazon has White Egg and you send up White Eggs they will reject it.
  • Follow the steps carefully, this process means you have to edit brand in bulk at the category level.

Setup Steps in Omnivore

  1. Lets assume we are going to send a different brand to Amazon for product in this Category - Clothing, Shoes & Accessories» Women» Clothing» Pants
  2. Omnivore might have Stars 123 as the brand and you want to change it to 'Smart Pants'.
  3. Navigate to Omnivore - Products - Amazon Australia - Marketplace Attributes Tab click on Category next to your Category of choice.
  4. This will take you to this page
  5. Scroll down to find Brand Name, on the right hand field enter your Brand Name as it appears on Amazon, this means that for products in that category the Brand in this field will be set based on that value.
  6. Now find a product in Omnivore that is in that category check under attributes on the product page, this flag will be set to True.
  7. You may see the brand value on the product page section and you may not, either way this bulk update process sets your brand to products in your chosen categories.
  8. The main thing to note when making this change in bulk is that the brand we import from your eCommerce Store will be different to the one you have now set in Omnivore and that Brand is set at the category level based on what Amazon expects from your registered brand in its catalogue.
