Overview and Considerations

The order refund process for The Iconic varies depending on your eCommerce Platform.

NOTE:  Shopify sellers can refund from within Shopify and this will flow to Omnivore and The Iconic via our order update workflows.  The steps below are not relevant for you, follow the order cancel procedure for Shopify and the Omnivore order webhooks will cancel the order in The Iconic and in Omnivore.

All other eCommerce Platforms, Bigcommerce, Magento 2, Woo Commerce and Maropost require a manual process.  This means that you have to cancel/refund the order in The Iconic and your eCommerc Store.  Then set the order to refunded using 'Mark As Refunded' in Omnivore.  See the steps below.

Cancel & Refund an order - The Iconic (not for Shopify Sellers)

  1. Log into The Iconic and cancel/refund the order.
  2. Please see this link for more detailed instructions from the Iconic about how to cancel and handle orders.
  3. Cancel the order in your eCommerce store, this does not refund the buyer, Omnivore does not handle payments for the Iconic orders so it is not possible to refund directly from there.
  4. The cancellation in your eCommerce store is purely done for accounting/inventory/reporting purposes if desired.
  5. The cancellation process will vary depending on what eCommerce platform you are using.
  6. Next, mark the order as refunded in Omnivore.
  7. In Omnivore, go to Orders in the left-hand navigation and click All Orders.
  8. Find the order which you have refunded and click through to the page in Omnivore which holds the order information
  9. Click 'Mark as refunded'

Key Points for Manually Refunds

Marking an Order as Refunded in Omnivore does NOT refund the order in The Iconic or your platform.

The "Mark as Refunded" option for an order in Omnivore will stop any updates being made to the order in Omnivore, your eCommerce platform or The Iconic.

Cancelling/Refunding an Iconic order in your eCommerce store will NOT refund the buyer, the refund/cancellation must be done directly within the Iconic SellerCenter.
