Use this if you:

  • Have an existing Google Merchant Center (GMC) account AND
  • Want to submit products to your GMC by scheduling Google to fetch your product feed

NB: You do not need to link your existing Google Merchant Center account to Omnivore in order to use in your Google account the product feed generated by Omnivore. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1: Create the Product Feed

  • From the Omnivore Dashboard, click the 'More' tab and choose 'Google Product Feed'
  • When asked to create or enter Google Accounts you can 'SKIP' this step.
  • You will land on the Dashboard - ensure your shipping is set up and you have checked your structured data.

Step 2: Get your Product Feed URL

  • All products in Omnivore that we import from your ecommerce platform are automatically added into your Google Product Feed.
  • You can exclude products from your Google Shopping Feed by Brand, Keyword, On Sale or Category. Go to 'Settings - Google - General' to set these up or block individual products in 'Products - On Google'
  • In Omnivore, go to ‘Settings – Google – General’. You will see the URL that we have created for your Google Shopping Feed. For example: https://m1.omnivore.com.au/v1/retailers/test-retailer/products/google?secret=S3wJ35J1r8nYVCe9BjD
  • Copy this URL

Step 3: Add feed to Google Merchant Center

  • Login to your Google Merchant Center account and in the ‘Products’ area there should be a section called 'Feeds' where you add the URL from Omnivore you copied in Step 1.
  • Click the blue '+ ' button to add your feed. Choose the 'Scheduled fetch' option.
  • Make sure you are setting your feed up in Google as a scheduled feed and you set the time to pick up your feed from Omnivore at least once per day.
  • See this Google FAQ for details: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/1219255?hl=en&ref_topic=3404780
  • Make sure you are setting your feed up in Google as a scheduled feed and you set the time to pick up your feed from Omnivore at least once per day.

Step 4: Optional but strongly recommended

  • Use the "Fetch now" feature in your Google Merchant Center to trigger an immediate feed upload, then observe the results.
  • If it works as expected, Google will keep doing that automatically according to the schedule you have defined.

Done!

You should now be able to manage your campaigns in Google and keep the products up to date in Google via your Omnivore google shopping feed.
