Uber Eats Taxonomy Update

Internal FAQ for dev and support.

Retailers, e.g. Coles Liquor or EB Games, may request a category refresh, this will come in via an email or ticket and it will most likely come in via Krystal. ALL retailers will follow the same process, including non-Coles retailers.

The steps to update are below.  Essentially this a dev function end to end (that said, admins can do step 6).  Running a general category refresh will not work unless all of the steps below are completed first.

When a ticket comes in, add your notes and give it directly to the Dev Fairy, with a mention in General Slack.  Krystal adds the file first and she will update the ticket accordingly.

Once the update has been completed by dev check with the Coles Team member that the categories look good from the Coles side.

These types or Taxonomy updates are usually categories for promotions that Coles are running.

Information and Update Steps for Dev

The Uber Eats taxonomy is shared between ALL Uber Eats marketplace channels for all retailers, however there is a customTaxonomyId that allows us to filter the categories so that only those that are applicable to a retailer (e.g. taxon ID 'coles') are visible on the mapping screens.

Practically speaking, in the Coles example, there is a top level category for Grocery and one for Liquor, so that Coles Grocery can map into one subtree and Coles Liquor (Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, First Choice) can map into the other subtree. It's assumed that the subtrees are generic enough for us to allow other retailers to also use them. This is in lieu of Uber Eats having a category taxonomy of its own.

Steps to update:

1. log into coles account on sftp.citybeachsoftware.com

2. cd to images/1000x1000

3. edit ubereats-categories.csv (note: this name will be different for other retailers, e.g. ubereats-categories-ebgames.csv) or overwrite (cut and paste column A from the Coles Liquor-supplied spreadsheet)

4. sudo to root

5. run the below rsynchs to push the ubereats csv onto the image server, or wait for cron to do this

6. go to each cluster that requires the update, e.g. https://m8.omnivore.com.au/admin/categories, and hit Refresh to pull category changes in
