Uber Eats - how the integration works
Review Uber Eats the integration works
Internal only.
A menu marketplace like Uber Eats is not like a traditional marketplace. Its a lot more flexible!
PRODUCT FEED:
Products and inventory are pushed via an SFTP method to the marketplace as there is currently no API for that.
While there are certain mandatory fields for product and Inventory a customised version of each can also be accommodated to build out the data a seller wants on the front end.
CATEGORY TAXONOMY:
This also applies to a store taxonomy. As a menu marketplace was originally designed to support restaurants who may have their own menus, so the 'menu builder' is used to generate a store taxonomy.
Presently, we are not able to push a taxonomy to a menu marketplace. These are created manually by the menu marketplace team directly on the platform. Moving forward we will look to get the seller to generate a taxonomy as a csv and import into Omnivore via the same mechanism as Kogan , category map as per any other marketplace and then push to the menu marketplace.
Further to this we will also build out product actions to allow a seller to add a single product to multiple categories (promotional) as and where required while still maintaining the primary mapping.
ORDERS:
Orders are received via two specific API calls. ORDERS and SCHEDULED ORDERS.
The general order workflow is as per any other marketplace. The order is placed and sent across to Omnivore. This order then needs to be ACCEPTED and once accepted a driver is assigned to collect.
A scheduled order allows a customer to pre-order a product and have it delivered at a nominated date / time. These orders are still required to be accepted and then reaccepted at the nominated date / time.
All orders can be modified throughout the order lifecycle up until and including collection. This includes delete a line item, replace a line item or update quantity of a line item.
Key Rules for orders:
- Orders MUST be accepted within 11 min or the order is cancelled and refunded
- Orders can be auto accepted or manually accepted
- Orders can be modified up until the point of collection
- Orders can be cancelled even after collection
