Special features of the Lasoo Marketplace
Understand Lasoo marketplace features and requirements.
Internal to start with but will be retailer facing.
The Lasso Marketplacer integration has some special features, as requested by James Malloch
If the retailer or marketplace admin are not aware of the Lasoo functionality, we either explain the following points or direct them to James for questions.
Categories
We do not send the marketplace category in taxon_slug. It also means we don't have to map to marketplace categories.
We do send the retailers' categories in map_taxon, but only when the advert (aka product) is created. James is doing a csv export and assigns the product to Lasoo categories.
We do not set the published flag on the advert, because category is compulsory for a published advert, and we do not know when the advert is assigned the category since James is doing it.
From the 2 above, we can also say this:
map_taxon can be only set on a unpublished product, for us that's when we create the advert. Thus changes to the retailer categories after the advert is created will not be propagated to Lasoo.
We do not send any of the marketplace category attributes, since there's no category therefore we don't know the attributes.
Instead we put the options key -> value in the notes field of the variant.
Brands
Similar to the categories map_taxon vs taxon_slug above, we have the brands map_brand vs brand_slug:
We only send the brand in the map_brand field when the advert is created, then James does the brand assignment on their side. (this explain this ticket https://support.omnivore.com.au/a/tickets/107396)
Following from the above, if the brand changes on a product in Omnivore, this change is not propagated to Lasoo, ever. (unless the advert is deleted in Lasoo, and Omnivore creates it again)
Also, the brands we have in Omnivore for Lasoo have no functional significance for the integration, ie you don't have to refresh those or map retailer brand to marketplace brand.
Published flag
For Lasoo we never set the published flag, thus unless they do it the adverts are remaining unpublished and invisible for users.
The reason for us not setting the published flag follows from how categories, brands and required category attributes are manged not by us but by them, and to publish the advert must have all these set.
Product groups
For Lasoo we send all the product group names for a product in the notes field of the advert.
I believe they use that for shipping.
