Complete Your eBay Setup

  1. Review the eBay listing requirements
Before connecting your account, review the listing types, product requirements and limitations that apply when selling through Omnivore.
    Important requirements include:
    • Omnivore supports fixed-price listings, not auction listings.
    • Products must have a price greater than $0.99.
    • Each product must have at least one image that is a minimum of 500 × 500 pixels.
    • Freight options where the buyer requests a shipping quote are not supported.
    • Some products and categories require approval from eBay.
Read Listing on eBay AU via Omnivore: Key Considerations.
  2. Decide how to manage existing eBay listings
If you already have active eBay listings, review how Omnivore matches and manages them before completing the connection.
Existing listings that are not correctly linked may:
    • Be reduced to zero stock.
    • Create duplicate listings.
    • Stop receiving price or inventory updates.
    • Generate orders that cannot be matched to a product in Omnivore.
Read Keep Existing eBay Listings Live With Omnivore before proceeding.
  3. Connect Omnivore to the correct eBay account
Authorise Omnivore to access your eBay Australia seller account.
If you manage more than one eBay account, log out of eBay first and confirm that you authorise the correct account during the connection process.
After connecting, confirm the eBay username and use Check Connection under Settings > eBay Australia > General.
Follow How to Connect Omnivore to eBay AU.
  4. Set up the required eBay business policies
Omnivore expects the following case-sensitive policy names:
    • Postage policy: basic
    • Payment policy: PayPal
    • Returns policy: ReturnPolicy
The PayPal payment policy name is still required even when your account uses Managed Payments. Immediate Payment Required must also be selected.
Do not rename an existing eBay policy to one of these required names. This can break the policy connection between eBay and Omnivore.
Read Required eBay Business Policies for Sellers.
  5. Choose and configure your shipping
Decide how buyers will be charged for delivery before you begin listing products.
    Supported shipping options include:
    • Flat-rate shipping.
    • Free shipping.
    • Weight-based shipping using rate tables.
    • Calculated shipping using Australia Post.
    • Combined shipping.
    • Local pickup in supported situations.
Calculated shipping requires accurate product weights and dimensions. Payment on pickup is not supported.
Read eBay Shipping Types: Guide for Omnivore Sellers.
  6. Complete the eBay product listing template
Add your logo and complete the required information shown to buyers on your eBay listings.
The following template sections are required:
    • About Us
    • Payment Policy
    • Returns Policy
    • Shipping Policy
    The Sizing Guide is optional.
Do not include email addresses, external links, physical addresses or other contact details in the listing template, as eBay may reject the listings.
Follow Add a Logo and Create an eBay Listing Template.
  7. Choose which products to list
Decide which products you want to send to eBay and which products should be blocked or excluded.
You can exclude products using criteria such as:
    • Brand.
    • Product title or keywords.
    • Store category.
    • Individual product.
Follow Block or Exclude Products From Listing on a Marketplace.
  8. Map your product categories
Products must be assigned to the correct eBay categories before they can be listed.
Review the products you intend to sell and complete the required category mapping in Omnivore.
Follow Category Mapping for Marketplace Listings.
  9. Review your products and resolve listing errors
    Before activating the integration:
    • Confirm that the products you want to sell are active.
    • Check that required product information is available.
    • Review Dashboard > Listing Errors.
    • Correct any errors preventing products from listing.
    • Review the Dashboard for other alerts or warnings.

Final Checks Before You Start Selling

Confirm that:

  • Your eBay Australia seller account is active and meets the current account requirements.
  • Managed Payments is active.
  • The correct eBay account is connected to Omnivore.
  • The connection has been tested successfully.
  • Existing eBay listings have been reviewed and handled correctly.
  • The required business policies exist with the exact policy names.
  • Your shipping settings are complete.
  • Your eBay product listing template is complete.
  • Products you do not want to sell have been blocked or excluded.
  • Products are mapped to the correct eBay categories.
  • Listing errors and Dashboard warnings have been reviewed.
