Custom Integrations with Omnivore: Setup Options and Requirements

Learn how custom integrations with Omnivore work, including product and order integration options, APIs, file-based imports, onboarding requirements, costs, and next steps.

Omnivore has a range of set up and integration options available. If your eCommerce store is not one that we have an existing app/extension for (we have apps for Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Magento) then we approach the integration differently and look for more of a Custom solution based on your eCommerce systems, processes and capabilities.

When setting up Omnivore, there are two key pieces of the puzzle we need to get right:

  1. Products and inventory - how we can get your product data and inventory into Omnivore, how they are updated and how frequently they are updated.
  2. Orders - how we can get orders from marketplaces back to you for fulfilment and how we can get order status updates including shipment details  such as carrier and tracking code back to Omnivore (to then update the marketplaces).

Integration Options Available

Depending on your systems, processes, and technical capabilities, there are several ways to connect your business to Omnivore. The right solution will depend on how you manage products, inventory, orders, and fulfilment.

Product Integration Options

We can receive product and inventory data using one or more of the following methods:

  • Google Shopping Feed (GSF) - Provide a feed URL and Omnivore can import your product catalogue.
  • CSV Import - Upload product information manually using a CSV file.
  • SFTP File Transfer - Configure Omnivore to retrieve product files (CSV, XML, or JSON) from an SFTP location.
  • Omnivore V2 API - Integrate directly with Omnivore through our APIs for automated product and inventory synchronisation.

Order Integration Options

Marketplace orders and shipment updates can be managed using several different methods:

  • Manual Processing - Download orders and upload shipping updates within Omnivore.
  • Omnivore V2 API - Automate order retrieval, fulfilment updates, and shipment confirmations.
  • SFTP Order Files - Your system can retrieve marketplace orders from an SFTP location.
  • SFTP Shipment Updates - Omnivore can import shipment confirmation files and update marketplaces automatically.

Combining Multiple Methods

You are not limited to a single integration method.

For example:

  • Products via Google Shopping Feed and Orders via API.
  • Products via CSV and Orders via SFTP.
  • Products and Orders entirely through the Omnivore API.

During the discovery process, we'll recommend the combination that best fits your business requirements, systems, and level of automation.
